Ear diseases
There are different diseases of ear:
Ear Discharge
This disease commonly affects children, though it is sometimes found in adults as well. In this condition, inflammation develops on the outer surface of the ear, which then becomes swollen and filled with pus. Afterwards, fluid begins to discharge from the ear. Due to the severity of the pain, the patient is often unable to sleep. This symptom is found in the left ear.
Causes:
Chronic inflammation and swelling of the ear
Ear pain
Pain occurs due to pressure on the nerves caused by excessive secretions and cold. When inflammation of the nerves increases, itching, boils, and cold swellings may also develop. Sometimes the secretions become infected, resulting in swelling. Similarly, if pain occurs in the head, eyes, nose, or mouth because of this irritation, ear pain may also develop. If the disease becomes chronic, pus and even worms may form in the ear. All these symptoms occur only in the right ear.
Sometimes the ear pain becomes extremely severe, and the throbbing affects the surrounding and upper parts of the ear.
Causes:
Severe exposure to cold
A boil or wound in the ear
Inflammation
Severe itching
Water entering the ear
Accumulation of dirt or earwax
Syphilitic poison (infection)
Hardness of Hearing/Partial Deafness
When inflammation develops in the inner membrane of the ear, hearing ability is affected in such a way that the patient can still hear, but sounds become faint and muffled. This condition begins in the left ear. Such patients often suffer from intestinal inflammation and swelling. This disorder may occur as an after-effect of typhoid fever, and the patient experiences abdominal pain with a yellow coating on the tongue.
Causes:
After-effects of typhoid fever (enteric fever)
