Male Diseases
Various diseases are included among male diseases:
Excessive Sexual Intercourse
A proper sexual desire is one that arises without any external stimulation, and that is the proper time for intercourse. Whether this condition occurs daily, every second or third day, weekly, or monthly, after intercourse the body will feel light, the mind will be at peace, the heart will feel joy, the ability to work will increase, and appetite will also improve.
On the contrary, when the desire for intercourse increases and takes the form of a disease, then all the above-mentioned good signs will not be found. Rather, the body will become weaker day by day. Comfort and happiness of the heart and mind will disappear. The power to work gradually diminishes, and intercourse becomes a cause of hardship and trouble. Sometimes blood may begin to come instead of semen. At times, fainting may occur. This should be considered a disease.
According to Unani physicians, if intercourse is performed continuously three, four, or at most five times, whatever semen has accumulated in the seminal vessels is discharged. If intercourse is performed after that, then healthy blood, which is reserved for the nourishment of the body, begins to be discharged. As a result, besides sexual weakness, the body also starts to waste away. Gradually various diseases begin to appear, including palpitation of the heart, weak eyesight, dizziness, inflammation of the spinal cord, melancholia, epilepsy, insanity, diabetes, seminal discharge, tuberculosis, consumption, and paralysis. In women, inflammation of the uterus, uterine discharge, and uterine suffocation may develop. These diseases develop in such a way that first the heart begins to beat rapidly, breathing becomes faster, the limbs begin to loosen, the body becomes sluggish and starts to lose sensation. Ultimately, a person falls victim to a severe and fatal disease.
1- It is very harmful for those who have a deficiency of warmth and moisture.
2- Those suffering from weakness of the heart and brain, liver disorders especially weakness of the stomach, tuberculosis and consumption, diabetes, weak eyesight, epilepsy, insanity, seminal discharge, and sexual weakness with erectile weakness already have reduced innate heat and suffer greater harm.
Some physicians have observed that no patient should go near intercourse. It not only increases the disease but also weakens the body and causes the disease to assume a dreadful form.
3- People engaged in mental labor should also avoid excessive intercourse.
4- Pregnant women should also avoid excessive intercourse.
5- Breastfeeding women should also refrain from excessive intercourse.
Masturbation
The discharge of semen through hand movement is called Istimna bil-Yad in Arabic, and Musht Zani in Persian, which is also the common term used among the public. In English, it is called masturbation. This bad habit destroys both a person's humanity and manliness.
Effects of Masturbation
Apparently, masturbation harms sexual power, the reproductive organs, and semen production. Internally, masturbation affects the entire body, the vital organs, spiritual values, especially morals and ethics.
The structure of the penis is as follows:
1- Nerves at the top
2- Glands beneath them
3- Muscles at the bottom
1- Masturbation first affects the nerves. Blood circulation becomes excessive in the reproductive organs, especially the penis. The patient repeatedly stimulates himself, causing seminal material to be wasted. The production of this material ceases. Increased blood excitement, intestinal gas, frequent nocturnal emissions, poor digestion, increased secretions, and the onset of colds and catarrh occur.
2- When the nerves become weak, the effect reaches the glands. Semen in urine, dribbling of urine, gonorrhea, premature ejaculation, ejaculation while walking due to slight stimulation, weakness of the heart, and weakness of the nerves begin to occur. From here, the beginning of flaccidity (paralysis) of the penis starts.
3- When inflammation of the glands (mucous membranes) reaches its peak, severe friction begins to destroy the muscles (which are the spongy bodies), and a slight swelling develops there, causing pain when clothing touches it. Other reproductive organs are also severely affected. Increased sensitivity develops. The discharge of secretions keeps the urethra moist at all times. The slightest stimulation causes secretions to flow. Thus, due to excessive friction, the muscles (spongy bodies) are destroyed, resulting in “curvature.” The organ becomes thin and weak. Its ability to expand and contract is lost. The ability to achieve erection is almost eliminated, and the man becomes impotent.
Remember that the “curvature” and “thinness” of the penis cannot be treated with special ointments as some ignorant people believe.
Until life is restored to the nerves, glands, and muscles, the condition of curvature cannot be cured.
Symptoms:
Patients suffering from masturbation are extremely timid and cowardly. Their face appears sad, their disposition gloomy, indifferent to business, avoid gatherings, have a yellow complexion, dark circles under the eyes, an extremely shy nature, avoid eye contact during conversation, have cold sweat on their palms and soles, avoid the company of women, and often prefer solitude.
Causes:
Bad company, ignorance, and increased pressure on sexual desire due to inflammation of the kidneys.
Homosexual Intercourse
Sexual intercourse between two individuals of the same sex is called homosexual intercourse.
This immoral act has existed since ancient times. From the study of the Holy Qur’an, it is evident that this act had reached its peak among the people of Prophet Lot (A.S.). When they did not desist from this evil act, Allah Almighty lifted their town to the sky, turned it upside down, and rained pointed stones upon it, destroying the settlement engaged in this evil practice.
This is such a vile act that no creature other than humans, not even animals, engages in it.
Harms of Homosexual Intercourse:
1- It causes corruption of sexual desire, which has three forms:
(i) Defect of the penis
(ii) Defect of the internal reproductive organs
(iii) Defect of the nerves
2- The corruption of sexual desire also affects the vital organs.
3- Homosexual intercourse destroys a person's character and morals.
4- The penis is composed largely of spongy bodies related to the muscles and the heart. The mucous membranes and nerves present there possess extreme sensitivity, especially in the glans and urethra, where these effects reach their peak. Nutrition reaches all these structures through arteries and veins, maintaining their growth and development.
However, homosexual intercourse places unnatural pressure on the organs. Friction causes abrasions and inflammation in the membranes and nerves of the glans and urethra. Repeated practice increases blood circulation to the area, causing such an increase in sensitivity that soreness develops, eventually leading to swelling. Ultimately, along with the reproductive organs, the heart, brain, and liver begin to deteriorate. Then, instead of spiritual and physical perfection, serious diseases arise such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and excessive sensitivity.
Symptoms:
Young boys and girls whose sexual instinct has been damaged often become very shy. They remain fearful, prefer solitude, become distressed at the mention of sexual matters, lose interest in education and work, their intelligence and happiness diminish day by day, they fear the mention of marriage, often fall into addiction, and may become addicted to novels, cinema, and video centers.
Causes:
A nurse fondling a child's genitals in childhood, children touching each other's genitals, spending hours discussing sexual topics with companions, children mingling and embracing each other, participating in indecent gatherings, reading obscene literature, ignorance and poor education, and watching obscene films.
Spermatorrhea
Definition:
When a white substance is discharged before or after urination, during urination or defecation, due to sexual thoughts or friction from clothing, it is called seminal discharge.
Symptoms:
The involuntary discharge of semen without intercourse or desire. When semen is discharged excessively, the following symptoms appear:
Weakness, exhaustion, debility, inability to perform mental work, scattered thoughts, inability to concentrate on a particular matter, weakness in the calves after slight walking, inability to wake up in the morning, heaviness in the head, and forgetfulness.
When these symptoms become more severe, the following symptoms appear:
The patient is unable to perform any laborious work, nor can he do mental work. Even a small amount of work causes shortness of breath. Thoughts do not remain proper, and he often remains worried. Memory becomes weak and the power of judgment becomes useless. There is headache and a feeling of heaviness. There is often nervous pain in the back and abdomen. Digestion becomes poor, belching and flatulence remain present. Sleep does not come, and frightening dreams occur. Irritation in the bladder, burning in the anus and urethra, a sensation of ants crawling along the spine, pain in the muscles of the thighs and groins, weakness of eyesight, a yellowish-black discoloration of the skin, mild pain in the testicles, difficulty in breathing, irritability, burning in the soles of the feet, physical weakness, and sexual power is destroyed. Chronic headache, dizziness, weakness of hearing, epilepsy, insanity, chronic indigestion, and even tuberculosis may develop. This is a dangerous disease. Sometimes the patient is not aware of it.
Causes of Spermatorrhea:
1- Eating semen-producing and nourishing foods and not exercising or having intercourse.
2- Constipation, that is, straining during defecation, which puts pressure on the reservoir of semen.
3- Anal irritation... When hemorrhoids or small worms cause itching inside the anus, stimulation occurs in the semen reservoir and semen begins to flow.
4- Local inflammation... It has many forms such as urethritis, gonorrhea, inflammation of the bladder, etc.
5- Hot urine... Sometimes an acidic substance appears in the urine, causing inflammation.
6- Narrowing of the urethra... Due to bladder diseases, when straining becomes necessary, semen may also be discharged.
7- Phimosis... If it is long, dirt accumulates beneath it, and irritation from it causes stimulation resulting in semen discharge.
8- Sometimes semen undergoes such changes that it causes burning and irritation while being discharged.
9- Obscene thoughts... Erotic thoughts keep attention focused on the sexual organs. Blood circulation toward the sexual organs increases, making them highly sensitive, and semen is discharged with even slight stimulation.
Furthermore, obscene thoughts also relax the semen vessels.
10- Relaxation of the semen vessels... If, for any reason, paralysis occurs in the muscular fibers of the semen vessels, their retaining power is lost and semen comes out.
11- Nervous weakness... The centers of the nerves, namely the brain, spinal cord, and thighs, become weak.
12- Masturbation... Masturbation causes irritation in the urethra, making it highly sensitive, and spermatorrhea occurs with slight stimulation.
13- Certain causes contribute to the progression of the disease, such as excessive coffee or alcohol, the habit of tobacco use, sleeping face down, remaining unclean, mental overwork, and lack of exercise.
14- The greatest and most common cause is the sexual organs becoming “overly sensitive.”
15- Another major cause of spermatorrhea is hypersensitivity.
Nocturnal Emission
Nocturnal emission is an Arabic word meaning to obtain sexual pleasure in a dream.
1- During sleep, when semen and its organs are under pressure and dominance within the body, nature presents sexual desire, causing sexual arousal to become so intense that the person loses control and ejaculation occurs. This is called nocturnal emission.
2- Among the common people it is known by different names such as bad dreams, Satan appearing in dreams, clothes becoming soiled, etc.
3- In English it is called “Nocturnal Emission.”
The sleeping person may be engaged in feelings of love with someone in a dream. He is often in a semi-conscious state. Sometimes, due to weakness, there is no such thought at all, yet nocturnal emission occurs, the signs of which are visible on the clothes. In severe disease, the seminal organs become so highly sensitive that even the slightest dream causes nocturnal emission. If it occurs during the daytime, the disease has reached a second stage. Sometimes, as the disease progresses, the seminal fluid becomes thin and is discharged with the slightest stimulation, whether erection is present or not.
Sometimes, during the passage of stool, semen is discharged immediately with or without inflammation. This condition is harmful, to the extent that sperm decrease and often become tailless. Due to inflammation of the testicles, their structure becomes defective.
Symptoms:
Excessive nocturnal emissions cause bodily weakness, greatly reduced mental capacity, scattered thoughts, fatigue in the calves while walking, difficulty getting up in the morning, heaviness in the head, pain in the back and chest, digestive disorders, gas and flatulence in the stomach, and reduced sleep.
A sensation of ants crawling on the spine, dark discoloration of the skin, pain in the testicles, emaciation of the body, weakness of the sexual organs, stomach pain, reduced urination, and burning during urination occur. If nocturnal emission occurs three times a month, treatment is not necessary. If it occurs more frequently, the patient should seek treatment.
Causes:
Fullness of the seminal vessels, inflammation of the sexual organs, celibacy, excessive intercourse, sexual misconduct, constipation, indigestion, acidity, music, a sexual environment, and sleeping with the bladder full of urine.
Premature Ejaculation
Ejaculation occurring before the natural duration during intercourse is called premature ejaculation.
Its natural duration is 2 to 5 minutes. The maximum is ten minutes.
Those who desire more than this remain dependent on medicines throughout their lives and eventually lose even the natural duration of control.
However, if an abnormal condition develops in which ejaculation occurs before penetration or immediately after penetration during intercourse, then on one hand the man's own sexual power becomes weak, on the other hand children are not conceived, and thirdly the woman is not satisfied, shows aversion, and countless problems arise.
Remember that some people perform various unnatural actions in order to prolong control as much as possible, which are extremely harmful, such as:
1- Some use opium, cannabis, and hashish, which destroy masculine power.
2- They divert their attention elsewhere in order to prolong control.
3- During intercourse, when they approach ejaculation, they stop their movements or withdraw the sexual organ.
4- After one ejaculation during intercourse, they attempt intercourse again to achieve a longer duration. All these practices are extremely harmful for both men and women and cause various diseases.
Causes of Premature Ejaculation
1- Inflammation of glands and mucous membranes:
In glandular inflammation, the glands of the liver, kidneys, testicles, and intestines are particularly noteworthy. In such conditions, increased blood circulation and pressure at the site of inflammation become a strong cause of premature ejaculation. In these conditions, hypersensitivity and erection are also often present.
In the case of mucous membranes, inflammation may occur in any mucous membrane from head to toe. Among these, inflammation of the urethra (urinary passage) and gonorrhea are noteworthy.
2- Excess of blood:
An excess of blood generally results from increased blood production. It has three forms:
i- Strength of the liver... With a strong liver, food is rapidly converted into blood.
ii- Excellent food... Along with this, if the diet is excellent, blood increases even more.
iii- Good environment... A good environment also increases blood production.
3- Excessive Heat and Hotness of Semen:
Excessive heat increases the production of heat and yellow bile in the body, and this heat cannot be completely expelled. Or it cannot be completely utilized within the body, which causes heat in the semen to increase as well.
Likewise, eating hot curry and bread, drinking hot milk or hot tea, and living in a hot region or hot environment can also lead to complaints of premature ejaculation.
Similarly, a hot environment, hot foods, and hot spices also produce heat in the semen. Likewise, intercourse with prostitutes also creates bodily heat and heat in the semen because prostitutes are found to suffer from diseases such as syphilis and gonorrhea.
4- Having Intercourse with Young Women:
The heat in their bodies is greater than that of men, which becomes absorbed into the body, creates heat in the semen, and results in the disease of premature ejaculation.
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity is actually the sharpness of sensations that develops in the glands and is in reality another name for the intensity of pleasure. This same pleasure may increase and sometimes take the form of itching and sometimes pain. Its cause is the retention of secretions within the glands that seek discharge and ejaculation. It is, therefore, a natural effort that takes place in the body under material and psychological influences. If stimulation becomes intense or inflammation develops, the cycle of hypersensitivity, pleasure, and lust continues, causing the passage to remain moist.
Its proper treatment is the natural condition, namely marriage; otherwise, inflammation develops and the cycle of lust continues persistently. The patient remains afflicted with delusions, indigestion, diarrhea, headache, overwhelming pleasure, and abnormal mental disturbance.
Symptoms:
Since this disease involves increased activity in the glands, calmness in the nerves, and pressure of blood toward the muscles, excitement and restlessness are often present. There is abdominal flatulence, hysterical sensations in women, digestive disorders, and an obsession with sexual pleasure at all times. The temperament becomes irritable and self-centered, and the patient considers others inferior. They suffer from feelings of inferiority. They do not take interest in work or studies. They spend most of their time on pleasurable talk, romantic stories, dancing, singing, and films. They complain of sexual weakness, remain fearful of death, and try to appear youthful.
Causes:
Music, a sexual environment, bad company, and obscene literature.
Impotence
It has three forms:
1- Impairment or Loss of Reproductive Power:
In this condition, the capability for intercourse, sexual union, and cohabitation exists, and in some cases may be very strong, but the ability to produce children is absent or reduced.
2- Weakness of Masculine Power:
As a result, the man's ability for intercourse, sexual union, and cohabitation is lost or greatly reduced, and he cannot perform the act in an appropriate manner.
3- Loss of Sexual Desire:
In this condition, the emotions that create the desire for intercourse disappear or are greatly reduced.
4- Impairment or Loss of Reproductive Power:
It has three forms:
i- Decrease in the production of semen
ii- Weakness in the consistency of semen
iii- Defect in the temperament of semen
i- Decrease in the Production of Semen:
Semen possesses the property that when its production increases, it creates a particular effect upon the human body because nature has placed a certain inclination in marital relations in order to preserve the lineage. This produces a kind of excitement and stimulation within the body. The reason is the seminal substance that continues to be abundantly produced in the human body, and along with it comes pleasure and stimulation for its discharge, making a person seek the natural act.
ii- Weakness in the Consistency of Semen:
It has three forms:
First Form:
Due to an excess of phlegmatic secretions, proper maturation does not occur and a complete consistency is not formed.
Causes: Excessive use of moist-hot or moist-cold foods and climate.
Second Form:
Not allowing semen to attain maturity and consistency due to excessive intercourse.
Third Form:
Due to an excess of yellow bile in the body, the temperature rises so much that the consistency of the semen is disturbed. As a result, sperm are destroyed, the fluid becomes thin like water, and complaints of premature ejaculation arise.
Causes:
Excessive use of hot-dry foods and a hot-dry climate.
iii- Defect in the Temperament of Semen (Low Sperm Count):
It has three forms:
First Form:
When semen becomes mature in its temperament, sperm are naturally produced in it. However, when phlegmatic secretions become excessive, maturity does not develop, nor are its proper temperament and consistency formed.
Causes:
Excessive use of phlegmatic foods such as rice, rice pudding, etc. Excessive intercourse, obesity, and pus cells.
Second Form:
In this condition, semen becomes mature in its temperament and sperm are also produced. In this state there is an abundance of pleasure and enjoyment. Study of sex and a sexual environment increase it even further, causing the patient to become accustomed to excessive intercourse or excessive sexual activity. He then begins engaging in it so frequently that the semen does not mature properly and fewer sperm are produced.
Causes:
Excessive use of cold-dry foods and environment.
Third Form:
Such an excess of heat and yellow bile develops in the body that the consistency of the semen becomes thin and deteriorates, and the sperm present within it are destroyed. When it is discharged, a sensation of heat and burning is felt in the sexual organ, and it becomes yellow in color.
Causes:
Excessive use of hot-dry foods and environment.
Complete Absence of Reproductive Power (Azoospermia)
(Complete Absence of Sperm)
This disease is difficult to treat but not impossible. If there is no congenital defect, treatment can be successful through effort, provided that both the practitioner and the patient proceed with complete dedication, and then Allah Almighty grants His favor. Generally, sperm are destroyed due to two major causes:
1- Syphilitic Poison:
You know that syphilis may progress to neuro-glandular, neuro-muscular, and musculo-neural forms; however, in the musculo-glandular form it becomes completely extinguished. If that stimulation is restored, the patient can be treated.
2- Gonorrheal Poison:
In glandular-muscular stimulation, sperm are destroyed due to excessive heat. Semen is discharged in a pus-like form and severe burning occurs. The patient's wife feels the semen as though it were a burning ember.
Deficiency of Testosterone
This hormone ranges from 3 to 12 in healthy individuals. However, when its level falls below 6, a condition of failure of erection occurs, and in such a situation the patient is not capable of intercourse.
Weakness of Masculine Power
Weakness of masculine power occurs in two forms:
1- Failure of Erection
2- Curvature of the Penis
(1) Failure of Erection
Nature of Erection:
When sexual pleasure arises internally or externally, a wave first runs through the nerves, stimulating the muscles. The action of the heart becomes faster and, through its arteries, directs blood toward the sexual organs, increasing vital force and heat there.
When stimulation develops in the muscles, the secretions move toward the glands, and heat moves toward the nerves, where it moderates the rapid wave running through them by producing dissolution. However, because muscular activity causes calmness in the glands, the discharge of secretions ceases. Thus, erection continues to increase in the penis. The action of the heart becomes more rapid, increasing blood flow toward the penis, and the sexual organ begins to increase in length and width and expand until it becomes fully rigid. In this condition, the upper, lower, right, and left muscles pull in their respective directions and hold the penis upright in a state of erection. Since intense heat stimulates the glands, the semen becomes mature.
When this state of erection does not occur, the ability for intercourse does not remain, and gradually the desire for cohabitation also disappears.
Causes:
Sexual misconduct, masturbation, sodomy, excessive intercourse, spermatorrhea, nocturnal emission, grief, obesity, diabetes, use of narcotics, and celibacy.
(2) Curvature of the Penis (Bent Organ)
Nature of Curvature:
When, due to excessive friction, injury, or wounds, the tissues of the penis (especially the muscular tissues) become damaged or diseased, the accumulation of secretions, blood, vital force, and heat there becomes difficult. The side whose muscles remain healthy develops greater activity during erection, resulting in inclination and curvature.
The more severely the tissues are damaged, the greater the curvature will be.
Causes of Curvature:
Masturbation, sodomy, excessive intercourse, gonorrhea, syphilis, blows, and wounds, etc.
Symptoms of Curvature:
Thinness of the penis and bending during sexual arousal. The inclination occurs toward the side where contraction exists, while the opposite side remains relaxed and loose. Erection is incomplete, heat is reduced, enthusiasm is absent, and secretions are discharged from the urethra. In short, along with curvature there develop conditions of incomplete erection and diminished pleasure.
Loss of Sexual Desire
In this disease, the desire for intercourse becomes reduced or disappears. A condition of sadness is evident from the patient's face. He avoids speaking or working confidently in gatherings.
Causes:
Occupying the mind with some major pursuit such as prolonged spiritual exercises, intellectual and academic work, and marrying at a late age.
